Rehabilitation and physiotherapy equipment suppliers
Acutech Electronics was established as a New Zealand company in September 1988 and at the time was principally involved in providing technical services for a range of medical electrical equipment, including diagnostic x-ray and physiotherapy equipment.
In the year 2000, Acutech became the NZ physiotherapy equipment suppliers and distributors for equipment manufactured by Enraf-Nonius, a company based in The Netherlands, who specialise in the manufacture of quality physiotherapy and rehabilitation equipment.
The MOTOmed
A later development in February 2004 saw Acutech become the distributor for the MOTOmed manufactured by the Reck Company in Germany. The MOTOmed was designed by a German engineer who recognised the need for equipment that could safely provide ‘movement therapy’ for disabled persons, which would promote improved blood circulation and counter the deterioration of muscle condition caused by lack of mobility.
